KIDS SEMINAR
Posted June 1st, 2010 by AndrewThis was the held on Saturday 29 May and was the first "seminar" for kids held in Canterbury. The guest instructor was Brent Beaumont Sensei [godan] from Auckland.
The 3 classes seemed to fly by quickly. Brent Sensei concentrated on careful teaching of basics such as sabaki and kiri ake kiri sage with his instruction leavened by a large dose of humour. The 35 kids who attended were entranced or at least had to pay close attention to avoid Brent Sensei grabbing their nose.
It is clear the format of a small seminar was very popular with the kids and a valuable training event which we intend to repeat.
We have some photos of the seminar below.
