In harmony with nature

AIKIDO Shinryukan Canterbury held their start of spring dawn training at Waimairi Beach last Saturday. In front of the surf club they were treated to a brilliant sunrise and a warm spring morning. The weapons class was taken by Gary Crooks, Sandan (third black belt, pictured right with Susi Batterbury). Aikido is a Japanese martialart, which focuses on neutralising attacks without causing injury. It is a great form of exercise and has practical self-defence elements as well.
