Aikido Shinryukan Auckland Headquarters

Shinryukan is the Aikido school established by Mr Nobuo Takase (7th Dan), the senior Aikido practitioner and personal representative of San-Dai Doshu in New Zealand.

Takase Shihan immigrated to New Zealand in 1969 with the aim of teaching Aikido. Takase Shihan established Shinryukan in the mid 1980s and now is the largest Aikido group in NZ and provides the headquarters for NZ Aikikai and thus the link to the World Aikikai Foundation. The Shinryukan Headquarters is located in Auckland.

In the South Island Shinryukan has dojos in Christchurch, Rangiora, Dunedin, Alexandra, Queenstown and Wanaka.

Shinryukan can be interpreted a number of ways but a simple explanation is as follows:

Thus Shinryukan basically can be interpreted to mean the place to study the divine flow of Aikido.
